Studying

As I was reading several hundred pages about academic writing in one of my fifty textbooks for the MBA program I am in, I found a fantastic stopping point.  Just as I was finishing up chapter one, and heading on chapter two the author mentioned blogging as a great way to practice writing, and preventing writers block.   In need of a break, I thought to myself, "shit, I've got one of those." Thank you Ann Raimes, author of Keys for Writers, for inspiring me to finally update my blog.

Yesterday was the first (and probably last) meeting of the San Antonio Pie Club.  Several of us girls and one boy headed out to eat pie, just for shits and giggles.  Technically, I'm not sure I'm a member, because I ordered a cheesecake and mozzarella sticks that I shared with the others.  At the end of our first official meeting, I felt a little less guilty than the rest. Rather than justifying my intake, I sat back and pretended like I ate it all myself.  Today, I joined a few of the ladies for a guilty two-mile run.  Running then led to stretching, and other exercises.   Then I walked home.

I continue to sit here, in this cozy corner, completing my assignments and required readings, while listening to John Coltrane.  He helped me get through my undergraduate studies, and will continue to soothe my stressful mind as I carry on in my graduate studies!
